What's Happening!

Gerald Nicosia's play Jack In Ghost-Town, which looks at Kerouac's life from
just before his death all the way back to childhood, will be given a staged
reading at the Prop Theatre, 3502 N. Elson Ave., Chicago, at 2PM, Saturday,
November 1. The reading is free and open to the public. For further

Beat Studies Conference at Columbia College Chicago
October 10-11, 2008
Columbia College Chicago, Film Row Theatre (1104 S. Wabash, 8th floor)

Sponsored by the Beat Studies Association, this is an academic Beat Studies conference to be held on the campus of Columbia College in conjunction with the Center for the Book and Paper Arts's Fall 2008 display of the Jack Kerouac On the Road manuscript scroll. This will be the first major conference on the Beat Generation since the may 1994 Beat Generation Conference at New York University.
