Exercise 3

Exercise 3. Locate introns in your Paramecium PP2B sequences. You will align the PP2B sequences and highlight the putative introns. These were predicted using either software or by a human using a few simple rules. We will discuss these rules and look over the predicted introns. Our goal for the first part of this course is to determine if the introns predicted are really present. This is validating the predictions with real bench science.

More about alignments Alignments are often done using alignment software such as ClustalW. ClustalW is available as afree download, as a web-based tool and as part of MacVector.
