Assessment means never having to say "I don't know".

This page is to provide access to various documents produced from the Assessment Committee. The documents below are primarily pdf files unless otherwise noted. To access pdf files you will need adobe acrobat reader.

1. What is assessment? Definitions and examples (under construction).

2. Tentative timeline for accomplishing assessment goals. This helps us see where we are and follows closely what was suggested by the IEA. In is not designed to be definitive but rather advisory. (As of October 2001 it is still under construction).

3. Various forms. These forms are offered as a way to standardize assessment on campus and to help participants clearly see where it is they are headed.

  • The educational goals of "A Wooster Education". A basic description as to how we might proceed using the structure outlined by the IEA. Ultimately each of our educational goals will be converted into measurable learning objectives and assessment tools for each. Based upon the assessment tools selected, criteria for success will be developed for each learning objective.

  • Links to a blank template for defining what it is we want students to be able to do when they complete a Writing graduation requirement. This is simply a worksheet to help Assessment Committee members comment on an assessment plan being developed by the Writing Advisory Board.

  • IEA forms (accessed from http://www.iea-nich.com/main.html). We are hoping to adapt these forms for our use.
