Notes

Amber Kempthorn is a collector, book enthusiast, rock'n'roll disciple and collagist who is deeply interested in storytelling. The work she creates invites viewers into a fantastical world, wherein the place and the creatures that inhabit it are the confluence of (among many things), literature, song lyrics, and her memories.  Each collage is constructed with a kind of detritus, including the interiors of security envelopes, maps, paper scraps and old books.  She is attempting to tell stories that offer playful and thoughtful reflections on the minutiae and melancholy of life.  In the last year, Amber has shown her work in Cleveland, Ohio, Detroit, Michigan, Burlington, Vermont and Boston, Massachusetts.  Her work can also be found in the Cleveland Clinic and Fidelity Investments Art Collections.
