Foreign Language Teaching Assistant
Department/Affiliation: French and Francophone Studies
Office Address: Luce 314
My name is Claire, and I am the new French Language Teaching Assistant. I come from Angers, in the North-West of France, near Brittany and the big city of Nantes. Paris is not too far away from my hometown: only one and a half hour by train or 3 hours driving. I worked in the capital for almost a year in 2012 in a publishing house, so I am used to go to Paris frequently. So if you are in France and you need a tour guide I will be happy to show you around the "city of love" and then take you to my hometown and offer you a glass of wine to taste!
I have two master’s degrees. One in Publishing and Professional Writing and another one in French Literature, called "Texts and contexts," with a specialization in Latin, Ancient Greek and Ancient History. If you are struggling with your writing in french, feel free to ask for my help!
About me: I love to read, hike, go to a movie or a museum, travel and meet a lot of people from all around the world. And most of all, I love to sing. Back home, I am a member of a chorus which performs musicals every year. Three years ago, I was the female lead of the musical "Notre-Dame de Paris" and last year, we played "Les Misérables," which is my favorite musical ever. I hope I can teach you some great french songs at the karaoke night, or cook you some "crêpes" at the pause-café in Luce Hall! You can also see me at the conversation tables on Monday at 6 p.m. and Wednesday at 12 p.m., or join the activities of the French House, anytime you want, whatever your level in French is. Come around and have a little chat with me, I’ll be glad to meet you!
If you have any question, idea or project about France, please, come to me, I’ll be more than happy to help you!
