Senior Associate Director of Experiential Learning and Academic Advising
Department/Affiliation: Academic Advising, APEX, Experiential Learning
Office Address: 034 Gault Library
I get to serve students from two offices in APEX—Experiential Learning where I have responsibilities with APEX Fellowships, Mini Grants and Peace Corps Prep, and Academic Advising where I work with several important programs: Peer Mentors, Wooster 101, and ARCH. In addition, I have responsibilities for Transfer Student advising. What I enjoy most about this work is the chance to foster connections between students and opportunities that help them mesh their academic, personal and professional interests with hands-on experience. Before joining the College of Wooster in 2009, I worked as an English as a Second Language and Cultural Diversity trainer for corporate clients for over 20 years. I have lived and worked outside the U.S. for more than seven years, most extensively in the Tohoku region of Japan. I have a B.A. in International Studies from Earlham College and an M.A. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey.
