Biography, Performance, and Research
A native of Texas, Heidi Albert received her Master of Music degree from New England Conservatory of music, where she was the assistant to David Wells. An avid chamber musician, Albert has studied chamber music with Eugine Lehner, Colin Carr, Patricia Zander, and the Orford String Quartet. Ms. Albert enjoys performing as founding member with the cutting edge cello quartet, Pizzicato4.
Albert is currently principal cellist with the Grammy winning Cleveland Chamber Symphony, and performs regularly with the Cleveland Pops Orchestra, the Akron Symphony, Opera Cleveland and many other groups throughout northeast Ohio. She teaches cello at the College of Wooster, and is a former faculty member of Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA , Hiram College in Hiram, OH, and the Portage Arts Academy in Kent, OH.
Ms. Albert serves on the Cleveland Cello Society Board, and enjoys contributing her time and energy toward the Arts in Northeast Ohio.
Heidi enjoys a diverse range of musical styles, and has shared the stage with numerous groups, including YES, Smokey Robinson, The Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Randy Newman, Dennis DeYoung, Josh Groban, Clay Aiken, Manhattan Transfer, Manheim Steamroller, Sarah Brightman, The OJ's, The Irish Tenors, Dionne Warwick, John Tesh, Cheap Trick and Collin Raye. She was appointed at The College of Wooster in 2005.
