Yuka Nakayama-Lewicki has been a prize winner in the 2010 International Piano Competition of Slavic Music in Vilnius, Lithuania (third prize), as well as a laureate of the 2009 Virginia Waring International Competition, and the 2007 Louisiana International Piano Competition. Her performances have taken her to Asia, Europe, and the United States. Her recent performances include a guest artist recital in Kent State University at Stark in 2013 and a piano concerto concert with Kent State University Orchestra in 2014. She has premiered and recorded the complete piano works of Makiko Kinoshita, a living female Japanese composer, under critical acclaim. Nakayama-Lewicki is also a founding member of the Aurora Trio, composed of clarinet, violin, and piano. They perform frequently.

Dr.​ Nakayama-Lewicki is currently on the piano faculty at the Aurora School of Music and the College of Wooster. She has earned both B.M. and M.M. degrees from Tokyo Gakugei University. She earned an Artist Diploma in Piano Performance and a Doctor of Arts degree from Ball State University. She also earned her second MM degree from Kent State University to further pursue her graduate studies, emphasizing chamber music. Her primary teachers include Takamichi Kobayashi, Hiromi Takazawa, Ray Kilburn, and Donna Lee.
