Financial Aid Information

PENDING AID: For families receiving financial assistance, the Semester I invoice mailed in July will show the individual components of the aid award, including pending grants and loans; one-half of each aid component is normally credited each semester. However, because pending financial aid components are merely estimates of aid eligibility, any pending aid not finalized by August 8 will be removed from the student account, and the resulting balance will be immediately due in full. To complete the financial aid review process, families must submit all of the documentation requested by the Office of Financial Aid (e.g., copies of parent and student 2000 Federal Income Tax returns, 2000 Form W-2 statements, loan applications, etc.). The particular items you must provide (if any) are listed on the checklist accompanying your initial financial aid award.

WORK STUDY & NON-WOOSTER SCHOLARSHIPS: Please note that the work-study component of a financial aid award is never credited to the student account because students receive actual paychecks for hours worked on campus throughout the year. In addition, outside scholarships are not credited to the student account until the actual scholarship checks arrive. Thus, work-study and outside scholarships do not reduce the amount owed to the College by August 8. It is your responsibility to make suitable arrangements for paying the outstanding balance. Please contact the Office of Financial Aid at 1/800/877-3688 or financialaid@wooster.edu if you have questions about the status of your financial assistance.
