This 183-bed residence at the corner of Beall
and Wayne avenues opened for occupancy in August of 2004.
It will reduce pressure on other campus housing by allowing
the College to turn crowded double rooms in three existing
buildings into singles. Its steep rooflines echo the roofs
of Douglass, Armington, and Compton halls across the street.
Bornhuetter Hall was made possible by a $5
million naming gift from Trustee Ronald Bornhuetter ’53,
his wife, Carol, and their children, as well as a 50th
Reunion gift from the Class of 1953.
