Wooster Chemistry Annual Report 2001-2002 NCUR® 2002The National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR®) held its 2002 meeting at the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater in April 2002. The mission of NCUR® is to promote undergraduate research scholarship and creative activity, done in partnership with faculty or other mentors, as a vital component of higher education. Nine Wooster students from the Class of 2002 presented papers: Melissa Barty, Carolene Gabrail, Davin Korstjens, Jane Rackley, Emily Rainey, Abhishek Saharia, Jennifer Sorrells, Shawn Sullivan, and Tracy Ward. One of the benefits of presenting at NCUR¨ is the opportunity for students to publish their work in the Conference Proceedings, put out annually by the University of North Carolina at Asheville and distributed to institutions across the nation. Drs. Wingfield Glassey and Mark Snider accompanied the students to Wisconsin. The trip was funded by the Wooster Section of the American Chemical Society, the Sophomore Research Program, and the Department of Chemistry.
