The C.O.W. Card … An Explanation

This document is furnished to students as an introduction and reference guide for The College of Wooster’s C.O.W. Card.

The College of Wooster C.O.W. Card

The C.O.W. Card will not only serve as the official student I.D. card at The College of Wooster, but it will also access on-line card readers throughout campus to support a number of administrative functions.

Your C.O.W. Card is:

  • An I.D. card — The C.O.W. Card is The College of Wooster’s identification card for all students.
  • A library card — The C.O.W. Card features a bar code which is used to check out materials from the College libraries and to borrow materials from other academic libraries.
  • An admission card — When presented at the Physical Education Center and at other campus-sponsored events, the C.O.W. Card will serve as a ticket for admission.
  • A dining card — The C.O.W. Card is swiped to gain access to Java Hut, Lowry and Kittredge Dining Halls.
  • An access card — For students living on campus, the C.O.W. Card is “swiped” to gain access to all residence halls, and several academic buildings.
  • An access for printing — The C.O.W. card gives students access to all public printers / copiers and their printing allocation. For details on this allocation see http://www.wooster.edu/technology/documentation .
  • A debit card — For students who choose the convenience of the C.O.W. Card debit system, the card will be accepted for payment at Mom’s Truck Stop, Java Hut, Scot Lanes, Lowry Front Desk, The Florence O. Wilson Bookstore, Security, Keys & ID’s, Common Grounds, the Registrar and the Student Wellness Center. The C.O.W. Card can also be used to purchase candy, snacks, and beverages from residence hall vending machines, to operate the laundry equipment in residence halls, and to purchase discounted student meal tickets at Lowry and Kittredge.
