"Data Analysis Techniques for High-Density Microarrays: Tapping Assays for Information"

Sean Jeffries 2001

Abstract

Microarray assays provide biologists with the ability to measure mRNA expression of multiple cell samples across the entire genome simultaneously. This new experimental method has caused biology researchers to be inundated with enormous data sets without established methods of data analysis. Algorithms for accurate statistically significant data analysis and an infrastructure for a relational expression database that integrates with existing databases would facilitate the use of microarray assays to annotate the genome. This work is a discourse on microarray assay techniques, data analysis techniques, and limitations of experimental results.
