"Decisions, Decisions, Decisions: The Development of SpanTran, an Example Based Machine Translation System which Implements Two Lexico-Semantic Ambiguity Resolution Algorithms"
Chuck Nusbaum 2002
Abstract
This study begins with a sketch of the historical developments in the field of machine translation and follows with an analysis of theoretical developments in machine translation to resolve lexical ambiguity. English and Spanish are chosen as the language pair to be investigated and several types of ambiguity are selected as the focus for analysis. A machine translation application is created to aid in the ambiguity analysis.
