Zack Leeds 2005

Abstract

Far too many website designers take their own level of expertise and expect it to apply to anyone viewing their website. This project takes said fault and uses it to its advantage in order to create the most user-friendly and intuitive web based car parts database possible. A specifically-filtered search method is also included so that users of the website are able to search through the database with ease. Many current websites of similar content were reviewed by people with various levels of car and computer expertise. After the results were considered, a user interface and database design were created for this project – an interface which went through many revisions based on reviews and comments from a number of other users with a variety of car and computer knowledge. The design came to its final form based on the successful implementation of elements of user interface and database design as well as the revision of any complaints of the reviewers
