Dean of Students - Kurt Holmes

Kurt HolmesKurt C. Holmes is dean of students at The College of Wooster, a position he has held since 2001. Prior to that, he was associate dean of students at Davidson College for two years.

Holmes earned his B.S. at Allegheny College (1988) and his M.S. at West Virginia University (1997).

Holmes served as an assistant director of student activities at Washington & Jefferson College and then joined Davidson as assistant director of residence life and director of Greek affairs. In these dual capacities, he had direct responsibility for all student staff supervision and training for a residential life program that involved 1,500 students in 17 residence halls. Holmes was promoted to director of residence life in 1995 and to associate dean of students in 1999.

A member of several national organizations, including the American College Personnel Association and the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, Holmes has made numerous presentations at national and regional conferences and has developed training and leadership programs. He also currently serves as United Way president for the Wooster community.
