Using Stata at Wooster
STATA is a comprehensive
econometrics
package that is used in the The Department of Economics for IS and
other
research purposes. Each computer in the Morgan 217 computer lab
has a copy of Stata that you can use for your work when classes are not
meeting in that room. You may also purchase a one-year
student
license for Stata. If you are interested in doing this,
please
contact Professor Sell.
Detailed (basic) instructions for using Stata can be found here.
Also, consult the instructor of your economics or business economics
course.
Stata was formally adopted by the Economics Department in January
2005. During a transition period, some students will also be
using our previous econometics package, Shazam. A document
describing a variety of Shazam commands and their counterparts in Stata
is at this
link. Please contact Professor Sell or Professor J. Burnell
for additional information.
