Merit Scholarships
Merit Scholarships
Wooster offers substantial merit-based scholarships to the very best applicants. Applicants who wish to be considered for merit scholarship opportunities must submit an admissions application and any necessary scholarship materials by the appropriate postmarked deadlines. Merit scholarships are renewable each year for four years, based upon good academic standing at the College.
Dean´s Awards
Application Deadline: February 15
$12,000 to $18,500
All students are automatically considered for a Dean's Awards upon succesful completion of their application. Awards are made on the basis of overall academic achievement, extra-curricular involvement, leadership and personal merit. Of the admitted students in 2008-2009, 81% were recognized with a Dean's Award.

Half tuition to two-thirds tuition
The College Scholar Award recognizes Wooster's top students based upon academic achievement, extra-curricular involvement and leadership, personal merit and scholarship essay competition. The admissions committee and a group of faculty select winners from this competitive group of applications. Please click here for application requirements.

Awards are made to African-American students on the basis of overall academic achievement, Allen essay competition, and participation in an on-campus scholarship event.
Covenant Scholarships
Application Deadline: February 15
$1,000 and $3,000
Must be a member of the Presbyterian Church (USA) and have demonstrated academic achievement and involvement in one´s community and church. Applicants must submit a letter of recommendation from their minister. Children of Presbyterian ministers must submit a letter of recommendation and supporting documentation to be considered for a greater dollar amount.

$1,000
Awarded to students who have demonstrated sustained efort in an area of academic interest, intellectual curiousity, independent study, and resourcefulness.
Making a Difference Scholarship
Application Deadline: February 15
$2,000 and up
The Wooster student body consists of engaged and creative students who were leaders in their high schools and larger communities. This scholarship recognizes students who have embraced such characteristics by celebrating and promoting diversity, becoming leaders in various organizations, commitment to community service, mentorship and more. Students who feel they have made a difference in their community need to submit an essay or portfolio to be considered for this scholarship.
Application Deadline: February 15
$2,000 to $8,000
Awarded on the basis of accomplishment and promise in music, theatre, dance, or the Scottish Arts. Students receiving the award need not major in the area, but are required to participate in performance programs while at Wooster.
