Program Overview
Wooster has become a consistent force on the volleyball scene throughout the 2000s, having rebuilt a winning tradition that saw it reach its greatest heights with a 40-win season (40-7) and the inaugural North Coast Athletic Conference championship in 1984. After that, the Fighting Scots endured a lengthy down period, but those days seem to be well behind them as they’ve put together seven winning seasons over the last nine while finishing among the top-three of the NCAC four times during that stretch.
A number of school records have been broken recently, and individually, libero Ali Drushal finished her career with the seventh-most digs in NCAA Div. III history (3,043). She was selected to the 2008 All-America Team, as was outside hitter KateLynn Riley – the first in school history so honored.
Wooster plays its home matches, and practices, at Timken Gymnasium, a spacious facility, and the Scots annually face a rigorous schedule of weekend tournaments against NCAA Div. III Great Lakes competition to prepare for conference play.
