Program Overview
Year-in and year-out, Wooster is ranked among the top-10 teams in the NCAA Div. III Great Lakes Region, at some point by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), as the Fighting Scots are regularly in contention for the North Coast Athletic Conference championship. The league has a reputation as being one of the strongest in Div. III, and Wooster has finished fourth-place or better six of the previous seven seasons and 15 times overall.
While the program flourished almost right from its inception in 1985 and the Scots won NCAC titles four times during the 1990s (1990, 1991, 1994, 1996), Wooster’s level of success has been even more consistent in the 2000s. The Scots have double-digit victory totals nine of the last 10 years and own a .686 winning percentage since 1999 (119- 50-16).
Wooster’s achievements, which include six All-American honors, with the most recent coming in 2008, have resulted from a year-round conditioning program, off-season competition, and comprehensive individualized instruction, coordinated by head coach David “Geordie” Brown.
The Scots play their home games at Carl Dale Memorial Field, featuring a thick, rich natural grass surface and plenty of bleacher seating, and new in 2009, they will have the ability to practice on a synthetic alternative to grass (Sprinturf) that was installed at the football stadium.

Hall Inducted Into "W" Hall of Fame on Sept. 26
Standing no taller than 5’5” in her soccer cleats, Lisa (Hall) Halstead admits she “may not have been the tallest goalkeeper around,” but what she gave up in height, she made up for with an unrivaled quickness and determination that has made her the first from the women’s soccer program to be inducted into The College of Wooster’s “W” Association Hall of Fame.
