Women's Tennis
Program Overview
A program on the rise, Wooster expects to be a competitive team within the NCAA Div. III Central Region and North Coast Athletic Conference. As an original member of the NCAC, the Fighting Scots are part of one of the preeminent leagues for women’s tennis in the nation and they’ve accounted themselves quite well over the years with 11 top-five finishes.
Several outstanding individuals have come through the program, including “W” Association Hall-of-Famer Kirsten Patton (1984-88) and Liz Richards (1990-93), a member of the NCAC All-Decade Team, as well as more recent stars such as four-time all-NCAC selection Joanna Tysko (2004-07) and Elissa Lauber (2007-10).
Each season, Wooster takes advantage of the school’s unique two-week spring break and spends the majority of that time at beautiful Hilton Head, S.C. Upon returning home, where the Scots have 10 professionally-maintained courts on campus as well as access to a nearby indoor facility (Central Tennis & Fitness Club), they play a mix of challenging regional and conference opponents, all in preparation for the NCAC Tournament.
