Music Performance
A passion to perform
The College of Wooster offers bachelor’s degrees in both music and music education, with concentrations available in performance, theory and composition, music history and literature, and music therapy. But a passion for musical performance extends far beyond those majoring in music.
Almost a third of Wooster students perform in one or more of the College’s ensembles. (Nearly 10 percent participate in the Scot Marching Band alone.)
Plenty of opportunities
There are four choral groups, including a gospel choir and the Wooster Chorus; four a capella groups; a symphonic band, symphony orchestra, and jazz ensemble; ensembles for brass, woodwinds, strings, keyboards, and guitars; and of course, the Scot Pipers.
The various groups perform at venues on campus and in the community throughout the year. The Scot Symphonic Band and the Wooster Chorus even go on tour each year during spring break.
