Reins for Life

Amanda Cleavenger of the Christian Children's Home rides

Sonnie with the assistance of Tina Lindstrom

In addition to Competing, the Equestrian Team volunteers at the Christian Children's Home of Ohio. Wooster Equestrians are involved in a therapeutic riding program at the horse barn of the Christian Children's Home. Helping out with chores, maintaining equipment and trails, work horses, and assisting children and young adults at the Children's Home are the main duties. In exchange for volunteering, Wooster Equestrians are allowed to practice riding at no cost any time, using any of the eleven horses available. Another benefit of the program is that the Equestrian Team received an on-campus house, so that we can live together.

Tina Lindstrom, student Coordinator of the Reins For Life Program is practicing for a show on the thoroughbred Sixer. The team has weekly practices at the Christian Children's Home to prepare for shows.
