Texts & Reading Material

This course will use readings from both texts required to be purchased by each students and readings either posted electronically as downloadable PDF files on the WEB pages for this course or on file in the Timken Science Library. PLEASE NOTE!!! The reading assignments may change during the course of the semester so check the Course Syllabus and these WEB pages every often!

Laboratory Materials

The following materials are necessare to complete the laboratory assignments of this course. You might want to purchase a small container (think Rubbermaid!) to hold everything.

 one or two good mechanical pencils (0.5 mm leads)  field note book
 a small plastic protractor  graph paper (10 or 20 divisions/inch)
 several plastic drafting triangles (or rolling ruler)  note book paper
 12" engineers ruler w/10 divisions per inch  8.5" x 11" tracing paper
 one 3.5" floppy disk 10x or 14x handlens
a small backpack or fanny pack for field trips (see notes on Field Trips Web page)
 clip board
