Students of German who want to practice their linguistic skills on campus have ample opportunities, ranging from residence in German House, to the weekly Stammtisch (German Table), German Coffee Hours, outings for special cultural offerings in Cleveland or Columbus, and the German film Series. Because of the Silber Fund that supports the study of German language and literature, Wooster has been able to purchase classic German documentary and studio films that have been restored and made available on videotape, allowing students to see the atmosphere of the period being studied with an immediacy not possible in any other way.
