Two Swipes at The Java Hut and “To Go” Meals

In response to students' busy lifestyles and schedules, Hospitality Services has made the following changes to allow students more opportunity for flexible use of meal plan:

Two Swipes:
The Java Hut now allows two swipes on Saturday and Sunday (same as Monday-Friday). This will benefit students who have plans for the weekend and are unable to use their lunch swipe in Lowry because of their plans. Students belonging to an organization that has arranged for boxed meals as a meal replacement need to be aware that they have already had one swipe deducted for their boxed meal. Students taking their boxed meal AND using two swipes in the Java Hut will not have a swipe left at the end of the day to eat a dinner in Lowry.

To Go:
Lowry and Kittredge are now providing students the opportunity carry out food and beverages from the dining halls in lieu of eating in.

Students desiring to carry out a meal from the dining hall must first swipe their ID at the checker station. The checker will provide an approved to go container and a cutlery kit (beverages may be taken, using your own reusable mug or cup).

You may not sit down and eat in the dining hall AND have a "To Go" container at the same time on a single swipe. Students wanting to eat in AND take out will be required to go back to the checker after eating in, and swipe a second time to obtain their containers and take a meal out. This will help us know how many customers we have served during a meal period for the purpose of forecasting future meals.
