Economics: One-Year Leave Replacement Position

The Department of Economics invites applications for a one-year leave replacement position, for the academic year 2008-2009. The successful candidate will be expected to teach five courses as well as advise in the senior independent study program. Courses to be taught include Intermediate Micro Theory, Labor and/or Health Economics, as well as Principles of Economics. Evidence of excellence in undergraduate teaching will be given special consideration.

Religious Studies: One-Year Position

A one-year appointment in Religious Studies in the areas of Biblical Studies and History of Christianity. The person hired will teach a combination of the following courses: Introduction to Biblical Studies and American Religious Communities (both are introductory level courses). Upper level courses could include Global Christianity, Protestant Reformation or upper levels in Jewish or Christian Scripture. The person hired will have a six course teaching load (three each semester). She/he will teach multiple sections of the introductory courses. Ph.D. or ABD. Some teaching experience preferred.

Music: One-Year Visiting Position in Upper Strings & Music History

The College of Wooster invites applications for a one-year visiting position in Upper Strings and Music History. The successful applicant will teach private lessons in violin and viola to undergraduate music majors and non-majors, one course in the undergraduate music history sequence, and possibly an introductory course for non-majors (Introduction to Music). This position will also include serving as Concertmaster for the Wooster Symphony Orchestra. Doctorate or ABD strongly preferred; Master’s and equivalent professional experience will be considered.
