I would like to thank my mother and sister for encouraging me to pursue my interest in photography and Rob Lyles for being a good friend and inspiration. I would also like to thank my grandfather for giving me the opportunity to capture such an unique "memory" of uor trip to South America. Lastly, I would like to thank the grandmother and grandchild for allowing me to take the photo.

I decided to submit this picture because it tended to elicit strong emotional feelings ranging from hope to sadness. It certainly makes me appreciate the culture and privileges American society has to offer. It also gives me clear "picture" of the realities of third world country.
