SEATON PARK
Just when I thought I had seen all I
wanted of Aberdeen, Scotland, and when I was most ready to come
home, it snowed. For some, all it takes is a little change of
setting. So it was with me. Everything in Aberdeen seemed new,
and I got to see everything for the first time (again). This
is a simple fence that runs along the ridge of the high path
in Seaton Park. Not much to look at in any other context, but
add a little snow, a trigger-happy photographer, and you've got
a still-life that captures the essence of Scotland at that precise
moment. I took over 14 rolls of pictures while in Scotland, and
out of those hundreds of pictures, only a few accomplished what
I think this one did. It not only lets one know what I was seeing,
but also what I was thinking. Ladies and Gentlemen: Welcome to
Aberdeen, Scotland.
