Life in the Dominican Republic for four months has changed who I am, in many ways unconsciously. Above all, though, I am grateful to have had the chance to improve my Spanish skills. Becoming proficient in another language opens up whole other worlds as you begin to converse, socialize, and (hopefully) learn to joke in another culture.
