Collection Management Resources
Purpose

This collection of web pages giving collection data, and collection access and development policies are being developed in order to:

Articulate collection goals and policies based on community and consortial requirements and resources.
Provide criteria by which to assess strengths and weaknesses of the current collection.
Respond to the ever growing and changing world of scholarly communication.
Address issues of access to information vs. ownership of information resources.
Address issues of collection management and content management.
Improve communication among the various constituencies: faculty, administrators, librarians, students, potential donors.
Provide a foundation for responding to changes in ways of acquiring and providing access to materials.
Provide a foundation for responding to and participating in consortial collection development activities.
