Indexes and Databases


Indexes and databases provide access to articles in serials (journals, periodicals, magazines, newspapers, annuals) and, in some cases, other types of sources such as books, essays in books, dissertations, government publications, etc. Most indexes are arranged by subject or have subject indexes, and many provide author indexes. Some indexes and databases include abstracts (summaries) with each reference listed. Online databases are made accessible through the Libraries' Web pages.

This database provides indexing/abstracts to over 4360 scholarly journals, popular magazines, and journals of commentary, including full text access to more than 3,430 of those publications/journals covering a wide variety of academic areas of study, including social sciences, humanities, education, computer sciences, engineering, language and linguistics, arts & literature, medical sciences, and ethnic studies. Many of the major Communication Studies and Communication Sciences and Disorders journals are indexed and included as full text within this database. This database is updated on a daily basis.

Coverage includes articles of an historic nature as well as current articles in scholarly communication and related journals. Full text articles from more than 200+ of the titles indexed are included.
