"I never knew that Wooster had so much suffering
and poverty in its midst. It's sad to see and hear some of the
specific cases of domestic violence and broken families."
"One of the clients came in today. A few months ago, her
husband held her hostage over Mother's Day weekend and held a gun
to her head telling her that if she left him, he would kill himself."

"I am learning a lot about communicating with others. Before
I would have been scared of these people, but I have learned that
they are people too and have the same fears and concerns as I do.
Perhaps, though, theirs are more serious than mine.....like figuring
out how to feed a family of 4 with no money and no food in the
cupboards."
"I met Commodore Terry today. He's an interesting although
difficult person to deal with. It's helps me to know that not everyone
grew up like I did, and these people have real live problems that
they have to face."

"I've realized through this internship that helping people
is something I enjoy doing. I like taking a mess of a situation
and showing people a glimmer of hope that something may go right.
That's definitely a value I have witnessed in the attorney's I
work with, their ability to shine hope in someone's life when all
else seemed hopeless."
