Major Speakers
A Major Speaker will be invited to campus twice during the five-year
grant period to give a stronger and wider hearing to the vocational
discussion on Wooster's campus and introduce the Lilly Project
to the campus and local community. The Director will identify
and invite to Wooster's campus an international leader who will
speak about his or her own exploration of call. By bringing a
well-known individual to campus whose life demonstrates high commitment
to his or her calling, the College will provide an experience
that will be accessible to a large audience. In addition, the
address will not be an isolated event. The speaker will also meet
with smaller groups of students, employees or members of the community
who share similar interests in order to engage these persons in
discussions about the theological dimensions of vocation. Discussion
groups or in-class follow-up will provide additional opportunities
for guided reflection and application. The first speaker will
be invited to the College in the fall of 2003. The second speaker
will be invited to the College in fall of 2006.
