Worthy Questions
Worthy Questions is a vocational and spiritual program for students
that includes a mentoring component. Begun in January 2002, the
program emerged as a result of Wooster’s initial grant
proposal to the Lilly Endowment’s Program for the Theological
Exploration of Vocation. “Questers,” as participants
in the program are called, meet regularly as a full group and
in smaller groups
“Questers” come from any and all areas of academic
study. Current Questers represent all four classes; some are
involved in local fraternities and sororities; others are International
students, or athletes. Despite their varying interests and experiences,
these students share a lively interest in the program’s
themes, and, as a result of the program, they develop a more
sophisticated approach to vocational discernment.
Brian Mahan, author of "Forgetting Ourselves on Purpose: Vocation
and the Ethics of Ambition," was the guest speaker at the Worthy
Questions retreat on January 17, 2004. Click here to read more
