The Dinner, France
In THE DINNER a young woman finds her expectations dashed
when her dinner date goes all wrong.

Note: A clever small film from France has
been wowing International audiences with its soft and sweet
charm. In a country that is known for their film, Cecile Vernant
has distinguished herself with this little gem that has traveled
and won awards in 8 countries.
Paperboat, Greece
A young woman comes home to the comfrot of her small town
for her grandmother's funeral and has to make a decision between
the comfort of her past or elure of her future dreams.
Director: Daphne Lambrinou

Note: Daphne Lambrinou grew up on the island of Crete (Greece).
She has an M.F.A in Film from the School of Cinematic Arts
at the University of Southern California. Lambrinou created
PAPERBOAT as her thesis film.
The film has won multiple student awards and gained entry
into the prestigious HATCHfest Film Festival. She currently
works at Jerry Bruckheimer Films in Post Production and has
working on productions such as PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN 3.
Moe and Les, Florida
A very short comedy in beautiful 3d animation about
Moe and his twin brother Les attending a party.

Note: Lindsay Vender Galien created MOE AND LES as part of
her student film at Ringling College of Art and Design in
Sarasota, Florida. The result is a short film that has sparked
interest in Lindsay and her school.
Duck, Duck, GOOSE!, California
A witty, screwball and, sometimes, experimental comedy about
love in a growingly cynical age.

Note: This theatrical film had a helping hand from Baz Luhrman
(mentioned in the credits). It is the most traveled film of
the program. All actors have been nominated for their performances.
Keep an eye out for D.C. in the future. Stay through the end
of the credits for D.Cs original song.
One Too Many, Spain
A father and son must determine just how far they will go
to get relief when the woman of the house walks out in this
Oscar© nominated Live Action Short

from a small time short filmmaker into of the hot names in
Spanish film. This Oscar Nominated film has major award nominations
and wins in 5 countries on 3 continents. It should not be

the helm of a feature length film that will sweep the world
over.
Perils in Nude Modelling, Texas
An aspiring artist battle temptation, jealousy, anger, the
clock and his lack of talent , at the toughest art school
in the world, while he sketches the most important portrait
of his life.

Note: Scott Rice is an aspiring student filmmaker from the
strong University of Texas filmmaking scene. One of the most
well traveled student films of the year it won a spot into
the prestigious HATCHfest at which he met several of the top
executives and professionals in film. Rice's unique humor
and situational comedy certainly set him apart from the rest
of young filmmakers breaking into his genre.
Santa Closed, France
An off-the-wall comedy about a depressed Santa Claus refusing
to deliver gift on Christmas Eve and the scamble that ensues
from his faithful elves to find a suitable replacement.
Director: Douglas Attal
19 min Comedy
Note: Director Douglas Attal does an excellent job of taking
a concept usually aimed toward children and spinning it into
a hilarious story for adults. SANTA CLOSED'S adult humor and
language makes it a refreshing departure from the traditional
and repetitious Christmas stories. Attal's talent and his
youth, only 20 years old, make him not only a director of
the future but one of the present as well.
