Leadership Skills Workshops: These workshops are focused on students
who currently hold leadership positions or have been newly elected to an
office on campus. Such topics as group dynamics, diversity, conflict management,
programming, communication, and motivation will be covered. They are designed
to help leaders facilitate group development and understand campus resources.
Leadership Theory and Practice: Each Spring the College offers a
one credit course entitled Leadership: Theory and Practice. The course studies
significant theories of leadership and the applicability of those theories
to accounts of leadership, past and present. Special emphasis is placed
on diverse cultural contexts, global interdependence, and consequences of
leadership. An acquaintanceship with a leader in the business or public
sector is a required component of the course. Enrollment into this class
is based on an application process which occurs in the Fall.
Student Leadership Gatherings: Ocassionally, the Student Activities
Office will host informal meetings. Student leaders will be invited to join
together and share information about upcoming events, build co-sponsorship
networks, and focus on topics of interest. Contact the Student Activities
Office at x2062 for more information.
Student Leader Listserv: The Student Activities Office hosts a listserv
for students who wish to exchange information about leadership topics, student
organization activities, or ask questions about anything that affects them
as an individual or as a member of an organization. This is also an excellent
forum for publicizing events. To subscribe, send an e-mail to listserv@wooster.edu
