World ViewPainting With Color

“I’m interested in capturing real life in real color. Color is what engages me.”

Calling her camera her “paintbrush,” McCarthy captures swathes of color.

McCarthy, who is especially touched by the beauty of women throughout the world, intends to use photography sales to support projects in developing areas. For example, she hopes that plans currently underway to develop a clinic for women in the Lake Victoria area of Africa will become a reality. “Supporting a project like this speaks to my heart in a way that just selling my photos doesn’t,” she says.

Windows to the Soul

“I’m trying to capture that moment of aliveness with both people and animals when the guard is down, and they show you who they are. Eyes really are the windows to the soul.”

Telling a Story

“I love telling a story—through details, broad pictures, and everything in between. My images allow me to go beyond an ordinary moment. They are done with respect and love.”
