A performing organization whose emphasis during the fall season
is on marching, with the latest techniques and best quality of appropriate
music being prepared and performed. In winter and spring the band
studies and performs the best in band literature from all periods
for performance on tour and for home audiences. Admission to the
Symphonic Band is by audition. Membership in the Marching Band is
open to any student without audition. Selected music education majors
are given the opportunity to prepare and conduct compositions. Four
hours per week. One-eighth course credit per semester. Annually.
