Recreational Music–Programming
and Leadership
The main focus of this course is students’ development of
a repertoire of activities which will provide a foundation for their
initial fieldwork experiences. Adaptation of activities and instruments,
basic assessment of client interests and needs, and evaluation by
observation are addressed as part of the fieldwork that is required
as part of this course. Group leadership skills, time management,
and musical skills are also emphasized through student-led activities
and class demonstrations. One-half course credit. Required of all
B.Mus.Ed. (Music Therapy) majors. Prerequisite: Music
190. Annually. Fall.
