Survey of Jazz
A study of jazz from its inception to the present, including the
New Orleans, swing, bebop, cool, hard bop, free jazz, and jazz-rock
fusion styles, as well as major individual musicians such as Louis
Armstrong, Duke Ellington, and Charlie Parker. No prerequisite.
Special assignments for music majors and minors. Annually. Spring.
