Music 303

Basic Conducting

A course designed to introduce the fundamental skills of conducting, including basic symmetic and asymmetric patterns, expessive testures, cues, fermatas, and the develpment of independence of the right and left hands. Attention is also given to transposition, instrumental score reading, score preparation, and ensemble rehearsal techniques. Required of all B.Mus. and B.Mus.Ed. majors. Prerequisite: Music 102. Annually. Spring.
