Hild Peersen

Hild Peersen, clarinet. Appointed 2001. B.M.E., Michigan State
University; M.Mus., Arizona State University; D.M.A., Ohio State
University. Dr. Peersen recently performed at ClarinetFest2006, the annual confence of the International Clarinet Association, where she played Jack Gallagher's "Intimations of Finzi" and the premiere of Brian Dykstra's "The National Pastime: a Concert Rag for Clarinet and Piano." At ClarinetFest 2004 she presented a paper on the 19th century Swedish composer Franz Berwald. Dr. Peersen is the principal clarinetist of the Westerville Symphony and has performed with several central Ohio orchestras including the Columbus Symphony. She maintains an active private studio in Columbus and has taught at Kenyon College and Mount Vernon Nazarene University. She resides in Columbus with her Husband Ken and son Ian.
