Karen Roll Gardener, saxophone. Appointed 2001. B.Mus., Saxophone Performance, Univer-sity of Illinois, 1990; B.A., Rhetoric, University of Illinois, 1990; M.A., English, University of Virginia, 1992; M.Mus., Saxophone Performance, Michigan State University, 1994; D.M.A., Saxophone Performance, Michigan State University, 1999. Taught at Whitworth College in Spo-kane, Washington, 1998-2000. Is a clinician and adjudicator. Has given numerous performances, including many at World Saxophone Congresses. Has performed with the Wooster Symphony, Washington Idaho Symphony, Spokane Symphony, and other orchestras. Has recorded for the Arizona University Recordings series A Tribute to Adolphe Sax. Published an article about Lucie Robert-Diessel in the 2002 Saxophone Symposium.
