Spread of E.coli to be addressed by the OARDC°s Jeff LeJeune
WOOSTER, Ohio — Jeff LeJeune, assistant professor in the Food and Animal Health Program at the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center, will present “Pathogen du jour: E. coli O157. How did it get on the menu?" on Wednesday, Nov. 29, at The College of Wooster. The lecture, which is free and open to the public, will be held in Room 009 of Severance (Chemistry) Hall (943 College Mall) at 7:30 p.m.
LeJeune°s major research interests include the pre-harvest control of human food-borne pathogens and antimicrobial resistant bacteria in the animal host and the environment. His current projects focus on the effects of diet composition on the magnitude and prevalence of E. coli O157 in cattle and the identification of practical, on-farm methods to reduce bacterial contamination of livestock drinking water. His other professional interests include bacterial zoonoses and infectious diseases of farmed finfish.
