WOOSTER, Ohio - The Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour, a nationwide traveling forum featuring exhibits, workshops, and question-and-answer sessions with young entrepreneurs, will make a stop at The College of Wooster on Friday, Sept. 10. The event, which is free and open to the public, runs from 3-6 p.m. in Freedlander Theatre (329 E. University St.). Sponsored by Wooster's Center for Entrepreneurship, the three-hour session is designed to inspire college students to consider creating their own enterprise, especially during the current economic downturn.

"By hosting this event, we are looking to enhance the profile of the College's Center for E-Programming," said James Levin, director of Wooster's Center for Entrepreneurship. "Building on last year's success, we see the tour as a great way to widen our appeal across campus and bring more faculty and students to the center, which fosters community-wide innovation, creativity, and new businesses."

Founded by award-winning entrepreneurs Michael Simmons and Sheena Lindahl when they were just 25-years-old, the Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour is presented in partnership with the Free Enterprise Campaign, with additional support from Inc. magazine.

America's top young entrepreneurs, many of whom have made, earned, or sold a company for millions of dollars and/or made a significant impact before the age of 30, comprise the tour, including keynote speakers Arel Moodie, author of Your Starting Point for Student Success and co-owner of the Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour, and Robert Nicholson, executive director of The Nicholson Center and an Ohio State graduate who has generated three startup companies that have created more than 50 jobs and millions in revenues.

The Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour has received the Innovation Award from the National Association of Development Organizations as well as the Program of the Year award from Northern Michigan University. In addition, Lindahl was named by Business Week as one of the country's top 25 entrepreneurs under 25, and Simmons received Entrepreneur of the Year awards from the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship, Fleet, and the National Coalition for Empowering Youth Entrepreneurship.

For more information about the event, please contact Martha Bollinger (330-263-2267) or James Levin (330-263-2227) at the Center for Entrepreneurship. Additional information about the Extreme Entrepreneurship Tour can be obtained by contacting Sheena Lindahl at 1-800-930-8021 (ext. 703). It is highly recommended that attendees pre-register to guarantee a space, but registration will also take place on the day of the event.
