Nancy Zafris will present a reading of her works on Wednesday, March 9, at The College of Wooster.
WOOSTER, Ohio — Ohio author Nancy Zafris will visit The College of Wooster for a reading of her works on Wednesday, March 9. The event, which is free and open to the public, begins at 4 p.m. in Room 244 of Kauke Hall (400 E. University St.). Refreshments will be available following the reading, along with a book-signing by the author and a chance to talk with her about her work.
Zafris is the author of two novels, Lucky Strike and The Metal Shredders (a New York Times Notable Book), and a book of stories titled, The People I Know. She is a winner of the Flannery O'Connor Award for Short Fiction, the Ohioana Library Association Award, and two National Endowment for the Arts grants. Her work has appeared in many journals including Antioch Review, Alaska Quarterly Review, Black Warrior Review, and Story Quarterly.
For nine years, Zafris was the fiction editor of The Kenyon Review, and she currently serves as the series editor for The Flannery O’Connor Award for Short Fiction at the University of Georgia Press. She has taught at the University of Pittsburgh, Centre College, the Ohio State University, West Virginia University, and in the low-residency MFA program at Antioch University. She also teaches at The Kenyon Review summer writer’s workshop.
