WOOSTER, Ohio, March 7, 2013 – The College of Wooster has named Marcia A. Beasley associate vice president for human resources, effective April 1, 2013. Beasley, who currently serves as assistant vice president for human resources at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, was selected following a national search.

As Wooster’s chief human resources officer, Beasley will provide leadership on the development and administration of policies and practices that support the college’s strategic direction. She will be responsible for all aspects of human resources, including employment, compensation, benefits, performance management, employee relations, staff and organization development, and HR information systems and data management.

“I am very excited to join the College of Wooster family,” Beasley said. “I am looking forward to leading Human Resources as a strategic partner, proactive advisor, and trusted resource to all employees.”

“The College of Wooster is committed to providing an excellent workplace for faculty and staff and we have been focused on developing and improving our human resources practices in order to support that effort,” said Laurie Stickelmaier, vice president for finance and business. “Marcia’s admirable background and diverse experience gives us the opportunity to continue the recent progress we have made and move the College forward in planning strategically for excellent campus community-wide services from the department. We are very pleased that she is joining our team of professionals.”

Beasley held a series of HR positions at Case Western Reserve University from 1987 to 2000, including compensation and EEO analyst, manager of compensation and records administration, and assistant director of compensation and records administration. She served as a senior compensation analyst at Agilysys from 2000 to 2005, and as a compensation consultant at Key Bank from 2005 to 2009, before returning to Case in 2009 as assistant vice president for human resources.

Beasley earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial psychology from Wright State University as well as Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification. She is a member of the Society of Human Resources Management.
