Visiting Assistant Professor of PSCI-International Relations - One year
Political Science
Job Description
The Department of Political Science, and the International Relations Program, at The College of Wooster seeks to fill a one-year visiting position at the level of Assistant Professor, beginning in the fall of 2013. We are looking for an International Relations specialist to teach Introduction to International Relations and advanced courses in International Political Economy and International Relations for the Department of Political Science and the interdisciplinary International Relations Program, and to supervise related independent research projects as part of the College’s Independent Study requirement.
We prefer candidates who will have completed the Ph.D. in Political Science by the time of appointment and who have had previous independent teaching experience. Applicants should submit a letter of application, curriculum vitae, evidence of effective teaching (including syllabi and student evaluations), graduate transcripts, and three letters of recommendation electronically. Applications received by January 28, 2013 will receive full consideration. Applications will only be considered from persons with current legal authorization to work in the United States. Note that the Department of Political Science is simultaneously advertising for a two-year visiting position at the level of Assistant Professor for a broadly trained specialist in International Relations, so applicants should be sure to carefully identify the position to which they are applying. Eligible applicants are welcome to apply to both positions. To be fully considered for both openings, applicants must submit a complete electronic application, including a distinct letter of application, for each position.
