The College of Wooster is hiring staff to fill the position below. Applicants must have good communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. All positions require employees to be team-oriented and dependable. Pre-employment testing required.
3rd Shift Short Order Cook/Cashier (Part-Time with benefits)
Greets customers, answers questions about products, and takes orders in Mom’s Truckstop and MacLeod's coffee bar and convenience store, in Lowry Center. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: prepares and serves orders according to formal recipes or standard procedures, as appropriate for worksite; this may include short order meals, specialty beverages, desserts and pastries, and convenience food items. Maintains stock, follows all Health Department sanitation regulations and procedures, assists with closing details at end of shift, and operates point-of-sale equipment to receive payment.
Shift is 8PM – 4AM during the week and every other weekend. Must be flexible when needed for special functions.
1-3 years of grill cook and/or general food service knowledge experience a must; culinary school experience will also work. Knowledge and experience with shift scheduling and catering service; including large banquet event service preferred.
Receiving Clerk/Custodian (Part-time with benefits)
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: receives and stores deliveries; along with checking all items against invoices to confirm all items that were ordered and reports any shortages or discrepancies. Place items in appropriate storage. Performs stock draws, makes deliveries on campus in department vehicles, removes trash, recycling, and compostable materials from work areas; maintains the cleanliness of floors and baseboards in work areas. Adheres to food safety and sanitation guidelines and regulations; assists in the daily, weekly, and periodic cleaning and maintenance duties. Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.
Shift is 2pm-10pm weekdays with every other weekend work. Must be flexible when needed for special functions.
1-2 years of experience.
Dishwasher/Utility (Part-time – 780 annual hours)
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: responsible for washing dishes and pots and pans according to the procedures and standards set forth by the Department of Campus Dining Services. Maintain a clean working environment with a high level of sanitation and safety; Setup, utilize, teardown, and clean the work area equipment; In dish room: utilize automated dish washing machine; pulpier; and conveyor belts. In pots and pans area: utilize 3 compartment sink; detergent and sanitizing dispensing systems. At the end of the shift, restock all dishes.
Shift is 5pm-10pm weekdays and 2pm-10pm every other weekend. Must be flexible when needed for special functions.
Dishwasher experience preferred.
Cashier (Part-time – 360 annual hours)
Greet residents and guests while overseeing entry into the dining hall by following the procedures established by the Campus Dining Service Department. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: swiping student ID to allow entrance as approved through the card entry system, accurately charge customers for dining hall meal purchases using flex dollars from meal plan, personal charge, department charge, or cash while maintaining cash drawer; enforce Campus Dining Service policies; maintain work area in a clean and orderly fashion; assist with any questions or refer them to the manager on duty; at times will assist with the supervision of student workers.
Shift is 1:30pm-8:15pm weekdays with every other weekend work. Must be flexible when needed for special functions.
Cashier experience preferred.
